Save the Date for the Haig – Friday, June 20, 2008

Snow may blanket the ground but the 2008 Haig hickory stick golf tournament is already well into its planning. Slated for Friday, June 20, 2008 at Elmbrook Golf Course, the event celebrates golfing’s glorious heritage while raising funds for the Grand Traverse Heritage Center. The Haig was named in honor of golfing great and Traverse City resident Walter Hagen. All participants play a round of golf, scramble format, using hickory stick clubs and dressed in traditional vintage attire.

Several exciting additions are planned for 2008. These include raffle prizes for a set of hickory stick golf clubs and related equipment, a pre-tournament clinic, vintage car displays, and an earlier 11 am start time.
